The Sims Medieval Aristocrat Long Braid Hair ~ Converted for Teen-To-Elder

Hi! So I figured out how to convert TSM hairs to TS3! This hair is using all the hair textures directly extracted from the game, didn't touch anything but the meshes. My bone assignments  are not as complicated as EA's, too much work XD But it looks good, so don't worry.
Something funny about TSM hairs is that they don't have roots nor tips. And the tips channel is used for details in the hair, like the braid in this case. Didn't want to touch the textures, so I didn't change it.

~ This conversion works for female teens, young adults, adults and elders.
~ It comes in two version: with and without tiara. You can have both at the same time.
~ Morph states compatible.
~ Both package and sims3pack formats available.
~ Polycount for High Detail and Low Detail is 3561 polys (low). Didn't make the LOD1 this time because reducing the polycount caused distortions. On future conversions I will use the original LOD1 mesh to avoid this problem.

Enjoy!! ^-^

This hair has been converted for fun and personal use only. There are not any kind lucrative purposes involved.
I Don't Take Any Credit For The Mesh Itself.
Please, don't redistribute. Give me credit or link back here.
Original hair by EA.
Feel free to retexture this hair!

  5. I love it! I can't wait to see more. The hairs for both male and female sims for Medieval look a lot nicer than the TS3 hairs. I hope you make lots more, including some of the male hair. I could always use more male hair.

  24. I have a quick request for when you get a chance. It does involve store items, so I understand if you don't want to mess with it, but I figured I'd ask. First, I wanted to see if you could possibly convert the outfit "Super Cute Decora-tion" from the Street Couture set to teens since EA didn't do it. Also, I'd love to have the two hairs from that set "Hello Angel" and "Dolly Darling" converted to kids if possible. The last thing is with that new hair at the store with the tiara, "Loli-Crown" can you make a version without the tiara? I'm sure others would appreciate these as well if you could. No rush, though. And like I said, if you don't want to mess with store items, I'll understand completely.

  25. Hey Anubis!
Sería mucha molestia que pudieras hacer más conversiones de TSM?
Hay un par de peinados para las mujeres que están bastante buenos, por ejemplo, el de la bandana.
También hay pelos cortos copados para los hombres.
    Gracias :D

  26. This is really wonderful. This is my favorite hair.

  27. Nubie, I downloaded both versions and only the one with the tiara is showing up. :-/

    Any idea what's wrong?

    ReplyDelete
  28. @Anon: Try uninstalling and installing if you used sims3pack, or delete your cache files. I couldn't add the thumbnail for that hair (THANKS TSRW) so maybe you missed it? I don't what else could be the problem :/

  29. This is wonderful. One of the best EA hairs ever, IMO. I'm not a huge fan of the TSM gameplay (it's okay, just not my style since I prefer to build, decorate and dress), but some of the meshes and textures are just beautiful. Thank you for making some of them available to us TS3 players.

FYI s3pe is saying that the no-tiara package version isn't enabled for elders. Didn't test it in-game to be sure but I thought you might want to know.

  30. I don't know how to download stuff from this site caould someone PLEASE help me?!? It pains me to see all of these wonderful creations and not be able to have them in my game. I tried using mediafire but it just doesn't show up in my game. Help?

    ReplyDelete
  31. ^Then the download is not the problem, the file is. And no, it doesn't show up in my game either.

  32. Hi Anubis I was just wondering if this hair was shiny? I havnt found out for myself yet as I had to uninstall my sims 3 game... Bye!

    ReplyDelete
  33. I loved this hair on Medieval! Thanks! *-*

    ReplyDelete
  34. Then what do I do if the file is wrong? It worked once before with a different hair.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I tested in game the non-tiara one and had an almost bald sim. Then I tested in CAS with several other sims and no dice; the hair seems too small for the sim's head :(

    ReplyDelete
  36. I'm sorry guys, I have no idea why it doesn't work for some people. I bet the problem is TSR Workshop, or the fact that I don't have much experience with it. I'll see if there's anything I can do to fix this :)

    ReplyDelete
  37. To get the hair thumbnail to show up for me, I had to switch my CAS model to "Adult" first. It then showed up on all ages. Just writing to give some folks a tip if they don't see it right away.

Thank you for the hair! Haven't tried it in-game yet, but love how it looks on Sims. The lack of roots/tips etc is very workable. Interested to see what happens genetically. More please :)

  38. This is all I've got to say about this:
    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I toatally ADORE medieval hair and clothing <3 And elves. And LOTR stuff. And these Jane-Austen-inspired dresses. And loads of more.

Btw, where can i find that pink dress ?
    Seen this? http://thesimsk.com/mediumponytail/

(Yes you're right, English isn't my main language)

  39. This is amazing! Very beautiful! However, I was wondering (if you don't mind) posting the black haired sim to www.thesims3.com
    - I would dearly appretiate it, she is very beautiful <333

  40. BTW: if you do upload her, please send me the link to xxscarlingxx@gmail.com

  41. @Anon: She's on this blog, under "sims" category :)

  42. Beautiful hair.Thank you.Amazing job

  43. Just FYI..

the .package file worked for me,
    the .sims3pack did not.

The .sims3pack did not show up in my game despite multiple restarts. I tried jonas3333's suggestion of setting my sim to adult first and it still did not show.

The .package installed with no problems at all and showed up immediately under YA.

I have not tried any of your other .sims3pack files yet, so I'll let you know if I keep encountering this. Thanks for trying to give us .sims3pack files though, I'm cleaning out all of the .package files I can live without to try to quicken my loading time. Unfortunately, this means getting rid of a lot of your hairs :(

    ReplyDelete
  44. Nevermind - it's not your .sim3packs. I must have messed up a file in cleaning out my Downloads folder, because now my backup simpacks won't work either.

gah >< Sorry for the false alarm!

  45. Thanks so much! I've been looking everywhere for the Medieval hairs converted to Sims3! Excellent job ^_^ Are you going to be converting any of the other hairstyles from Medieval?

    ReplyDelete
  46. I cant find the black and white version of the dress she is wearing ( the pretty black haired one) can anyone help me find that specific outfit?
